1531033 Electrical connectors LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 April 1977 [7 May 1976] 18752/76 Heading H2E An electrical terminal 11 for receiving a blade terminal includes an integral resilient finger 21 having a projection 23 which is releasably received in an aperture in a mated blade terminal (not shown) to lock the two terminals together. The mated terminal is gripped between inturned side walls 17 and the base 14 of the terminal 11 and can be released by flexing the finger 21 downwardly. The terminal 11 is provided with tags 15, 16 for crimping around an electrical lead and is received in a nylon housing 31, Fig. 5, which has internal shoulders 33, 36 engageable with a tongue 24 of the terminal 11 and the ends of the terminal side walls 17 respectively for retaining the terminal 11 in the housing 31 while permitting limited relative movement. The housing 31 has an inclined abutment 38 for flexing the finger 21 to release the mated blade terminal when the housing 31 is moved relative to the terminal 11. More than one terminal 11 may be received in passages in a common connector body. |
