<p>The medium voltage switchgear module consists of a disconnector connected to busbars a circuit-breaking fuse in series with the disconnector, and an earthing switch to earth the module. The three-pole earthing switch (48) has a double-action mechanism consisting of two arms (52, kje pivoted at a common point (56) and acted on by a single control rod (50). The free end of each main arm has a contact (58) that mates with a fixed contact (60) connected to the fuse (30). The free end of the secondary arm (54) touches a fixed contact (66) connected to the other end of the fuse. The two arms are earthed by a flexible conductor (68). The two arms move away from their fixed contacts to disconnect the fuse from earth.</p> |
