Radio frequency direction finder - has negative feedback AGC amplifier with acoustic and visual displays

A radio direction finder employs a super heterodyned amplifier (2) feeding a peak detector (3) providing negative feed back (3-1) to an A.G.C. unit (6) in the form of a sample hold device. A positive output of the peak detector (3-2) is applied with a reference signal (14) to adder (4) which along with a reset push button (15) controls a counter (5). Counter (5) controls the generation of acoustic signals indicative of location and a visual display unit (13) (9) respectively. The system arial (1) may be omnidirectional or unidirectional.
