Inflatable life raft for ship or aircraft - has spring biassed non-return valve in outlet pipe with drainage device

The inflatable life raft has flexible sides with an emptying orifice and drain. It consists of a mattress (1) of two sheets with an inflation entry (2). This can be connected to a source of liquid or gas. At the inside of the emptying pipe (3) is a non return valve (4) which is acted on by a spring (5). This opens when the pipe is connected to a vacuum chamber or if the inflated compartment is at excessive pressure. There is a drainage device (6) connected to the pipe also. A plate (7) of permeable maerial is placed inside the compartment near the breather pipe.
