<p>1434104 Developing electrostatic images LA CELLOPHANE 25 July 1973 [2 Aug 1972] 35386/73 Addition to 1384268 Heading G2H Electrostatic latent images are developed by passing a sheet 11 bearing the images between a conductive roller electrode and an insulating backing member 26. The sheet is maintained in contact with the backing member with its image carrying face spaced from the roller which rotates in a bath of developer 16. A meniscus 17 of developer is maintained between the sheet and the roller surface. The above arrangement provides reversal development. For development using a developer having a polarity opposite to that of the latent charge image the backing member carries a conductive zone 25 which may be brought to an operative position adjacent the roller by swinging the arrangement about point 24. The roller and the zone 25 are connected to sources of potential 30 and 31.</p> |
