PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Jewenol A derivative that exhibits an ATP increasing effect, and to provide a process for producing the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a Jewenol A derivative which is a derivative composed of Jewenol A and phloroglucinol. The production process includes steps of adding Bacillus natto made by NattouHompo to Akamegashiwa (Mallotus japonicus) leaves and soybean powder, subjecting the same to fermentation to obtain a fermentation liquid, followed by further fermenting the fermentation liquid with Bacillus Monascus. The obtained Jewenol A derivative exhibits an excellent effect, and is applied as cosmetics, food preparations and pharmaceuticals. In particular, when used in cosmetics, ATP is increased and a skin epithelium is held. In addition, ATP in the epithelium cells of a liver and kidney is also increased and is a help for the protection of the epithelial tissue.
