PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to the compatibleness of the stabilization of a deployment behavior of a side airbag and the improvement of OOP performance.SOLUTION: In a side airbag device 10 for a vehicle, a front side of the side airbag 20 is divided into a plurality of vertically-aligned divided bag parts 48A, 46A, 46B, 46C and 50A, and a plurality of the divided bag parts are adjacently connected to one another by tier seams S4, S5, S6, S7, S5, S6 and S7. Therefore, at the normal expansion and deployment of the side airbag 20, a plurality of the divided bag parts can be integrally expanded and deployed. Meanwhile, when all or a part of a plurality of the expanded and deployed divided bag parts contacts with an obstacle, and a load which exceeds a preset facture-scheduled load acts on all or a part of a plurality of the tier seams, all or a part of the tier seams is fractured. By this constitution, the divided bag part which contacts with the obstacle can be expanded and deployed while avoiding the obstacle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
