<p>A high-speed contacting device, intended for mass transfer and heat exchange in a column, comprises a dispersing device (I) extending across the entire cross-section and a liq. extn. device (II) mounted above it. (I) comprises apertures which promote flow from its inlet weir to its outlet shaft, while (II) is flat or inclined and contains liq. separators and apertures which promote flow towards the outlet shaft, and a liq. guide wall. Used for rectification, absorption, desorption, etc. between liquids and gases. Internal recirculation of liq. improves the contact effect, resulting in improved performance for a given column vol.</p> |
