1367146 Pyrimido-[2,1-a]isoquinolin-4-one derivatives MAY & BAKER Ltd 10 Nov 1972 [13 Dec 1971] 57855/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises compounds of Formulµ I and II and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts of I, wherein R<SP>1</SP> (which is in the 1-, 2-, 3-, 4- or 5- position of I, or the 7-, 8-, 9-, 10- or 11-position of II) is H, C 1-10 alkyl or alkoxy, or benzyl; and a process for preparing I by reacting II with a source of HNO 2 . II are prepared by reducing the analogous 2-amino-3-nitro- and 2-amino-3-phenylazo-derivatives of pyrimido-[2,1-a]isoquinolin-4- one. Intermediates otherwise prepared are 1-aminoisoquinoline substituted by 4-benzyl, 6-Me or 7-MeO; 2-amino- and 2-chloro-pyrimido-(2,1-a]- isoquinoline-4-ones (possibly 10-MeO-substituted); and 10-methoxypyrimido-[2,1-a]-isoquinoline-2,4-dione. |
