The distributor system is divided into parallel horizontal prim. and sec. passages interconnected by orifices for liq. flow and provided with outlets from the sec. passages into the bed. A further passage extends transversely w.r.t. and is connected to the prim. passages. This further passage has a connection enabling liq. to enter it and then flow into the prim. passages the liq. then flows through the interconnecting orifices into the sec. passages and enters the bed through the outlets. Novelty is that the sec. passages are located side-by-side with the primary passages and sepd. from them by inclined dividing walls halfway up which gas orifices are located. The orifices through which the liq. flows are located lower down the dividing walls. By means of introducing gas into the prim. passages, the gas flows to the bed via the gas orifices in the dividing walls and the outlets from the sec. passages. Uniform distribution of both gas and liq. are achieved even when one prim. passage is constricted. The expansion of compressed air takes place inside the distribution system and the gas enters the bed at low press. This reduces turbulence and disturbance of the bed. |
