In the apparatus, the conveying vessel is provided with a tippable floor which can be actuated by means of an actuating device (15) which is arranged in the unloading station (3). An unloading chute is provided below the unloading aperture of the conveying vessel, which chute guides the container (14) into an open cavern. The actuating device (15) is composed of a piston/cylinder unit (17) which is arranged on a bracket (16) and the piston of which (18) is articulatedly connected to a pressure plate (19) which is suspended in a pivotable manner and tips the floor of the conveying vessel when in an inclined position. The apparatus makes it possible to reduce the vulnerability of load unloading apparatuses to malfunction and in so doing to keep the structure simple and robust.
