<p>1522006 Feline rhinotracheitis vaccine PITMAN-MOORE INC 30 Oct 1975 [21 Nov 1974] 45026/75 Heading A5B A vaccine for immunizing cats against infection by feline calicivirus (the cause of feline rhinotracheitis i.e. "cat 'flu", and previously known as feline picornavirus) is produced by attenuating virulent feline calicivirus, preferably F9 serotype by propagating for at least 10 one to six day serial passages through a feline tissue cell culture (e.g. of feline tongue cells) in nutrient fluid tissueculture medium at an incubation temperature of 30+2‹C. The attenuated virus is then harvested to give a fluid vaccine, which may be dried or freeze-dried. The harvested virus preferably has a titre of 10<SP>3</SP> to 10<SP>8</SP> tissue culture infective doses per ml.</p> |
