1371303 Dispensing liquified gas GRIESHEIM GmbH 19 March 1973 [15 April 1972] 13056/73 Heading A4T A device for measuring a quantity of liquid gas, such as liquid nitrogen, oxygen or argon, being transferred from one vessel 1 to another vessel 2, such as from a road tanker to a storage tank, comprises a withdrawal pipe 3, a pump 5 and a liquid meter 6 within the withdrawal pipe, and, arranged after the liquid meter, a section of pipe 10 having a high-flow resistance which prevents the formation of gas before and within the liquid meter. The withdrawal pipe 3 is connected by a cutoff valve 4 to the rotary pump 5, the flow from which passes through the meter 6 and a cut-off valve 8 to the high-flow resistance pipe 10 which may consist of a throttle or, as shown, a corrugated pipe having hose couplings 9, 11 connecting the pipe to the valve 8 and a cut-off valve 13 in the filling pipe 14 of the tank 2. The pipe 10 causes high pressure between the pump 5 and coupling 11 so that bubbles of gas do not form in the meter. A jacketed section is arranged around pump and meter which are cooled prior to delivery by passing the liquified gas through the section by opening a valve 15. The pressure in the tanker 1 may also be raised by 1 bar prior to delivery to effect a super cooling of the liquid.
|
