<p>The potato-lifting machine extracts the plants and tubers from the soil and transports them to a cleaning area, the tubers being cleaned of leaves and dirt as they are transported by a permeable fine cleaning belt, which is followed by a mechanism delivering them to a storage hopper. A blower(13) is provided, directed at the inlet end of the fine cleaning belt(8). The latter can be spiked, while the blower fan is accommodated in an air conduit(14), at the end of the latter furthest from the belt. The design keeps the cleaning effect of the belt generally constant.</p> |
