<p>2,6-PYRIDINEDIMETHANOL 2-¢.alpha.-(p-CHLOROPHENOXY)- ISOBUTYRIC ACID! The invention relates to the preparation of 2,6pyridinedimethanol 2-¢.alpha.-(p-chlorophenoxy) isobutyric! acid ester, of structural formula: and of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts. According to the invention, .alpha.-(p-chlorophenoxy) isobutyric acid and 2,6-pyridinedimethanol are reacted in equimolar proportions, in the presence of an acid catalyst, preferably a sulfonic acid or sulphuric acid, in a medium nonmiscible with water, preferably, xylene or toluene. The product is particularly applicable to the treatment of disorders of the lipidlc metabolism.</p> |
