The design of the braking system, for a yarn in a two-for-one twisting spindle, where ferro-magnetic braking platelets are tripped by multi-pole magnets, has a fixed braking surface with a yarn channel with a recess slanting downwards so that on pneumatic threading the yarn passes along the side of the braking surface. The design allows the yarn to be threaded through, without disturbing the braking system.
