A gradient magnetic field generation module using a plurality of coils so as to generate a gradient magnetic field is provided. The gradient magnetic field generation module comprises: a gradient coil unit formed inside a main magnet so as to generate the gradient magnetic field, and including a plurality of coils; and a gradient magnetic field amplifier for controlling at least one of the shape of the gradient magnetic field generated by the gradient coil unit, the strength of the gradient magnetic field, and the slew rate of the gradient magnetic field, wherein the plurality of coils are grouped as a plurality of coil groups, and the current flowing in the plurality of coils is independently controlled in the group unit by the gradient magnetic field amplifier.
