The invention relates to veterinary science. A sedative composition with the effect of reducing sexual excitement in dogs and cats contains, in one dose per 10 kg body weight of the animal: 5-100 mg theanine; 2-16 mg tryptophan. The composition normalises the behaviour of an animal for a duration of 30-60 minutes after administration.
