The present specification relates to a method for a manufacturing polarizer, and a polarizer manufactured thereby, the method comprising: a step of dyeing a polyvinyl alcohol-based film with at least one dye between iodine and dichroic dye; a first cross-linking step for cross-linking the polyvinyl alcohol-based film and the dye using a first aqueous solution containing a polyvalent carboxylic acid compound and a boron compound; a second cross-linking step for cross-linking the polyvinyl alcohol-based film and the dye using a second aqueous solution containing a polyvalent carboxylic acid compound and a boron compound; and a third cross-linking step for cross-linking the polyvinyl alcohol-based film and the dye using a third aqueous solution containing a polyvalent carboxylic acid compound, wherein the first cross-linking step and the second cross-linking step comprise performing elongation together with cross-linking.
