An airtight terminal according to the present invention is an airtight terminal (10) which is hermetically affixed to an aluminum electrolytic capacitor (20), and which is provided with: a base (11) that has a through hole, is attached to a case (16) of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor (20), and is formed of a conductive composite material; at least one lead (12) that is inserted into the through hole of the base (11) and is formed of a conductive composite material; and an insulating glass (13) that hermetically seals the gap between the base (11) and the lead (12). The surfaces of portions of the base (11) and the lead (12), said portions being in contact with an electrolyte solution within the case (16), are configured of a metal material that has corrosion resistance to the electrolyte solution.
