PURPOSE:To simply and correctly control the relative humidity of an atmospheric gas for tempering band steels, the gas is contacted with warm water temperature is controlled. CONSTITUTION:An atmospheric gas enters a humidifier 12 to obtain moisture and passes through conduit 3 to be sent to each tempering furnace. Within the humidifier 12, warm water is maintained in a pool 13 having a determined water level. Wherein a steam nozzle 15 keeps the water at a predetermined temperature. The warm water is pumped through a circulating pump 16 to a spray nozzle 17 to be sprayed uniformly onto a filler layer 18, where water fully contacts the up-flowing atmospheric gas in liquid-gas relation thereby to provide the gas with an adequate quantity of moisture. The humidified atmospheric gas is demisted by an eliminator 19, overheated by a gas heater 20, conducted through the duct 3 that is heated to a temperature above the gas dew point and distributed to each tempering furnace. In the humidifier 12, the water pool temperature is regulated through a steam control valve 23 by an adjuster 22 in such a manner that a thermometer 21 of the spray nozzle inlet indicates the temperature speficied by a dew point setter 22 thereby to effect the exact control of the humidifier dew point. |
