Wool-contg. fibrous material is dyed with anionic dyestuffs from acid-neutral baths in the presence of (a) a reaction prod. from an 8-22C fatty acid with a prim. or sec. amine contg. >=1 hydroxy-lower alkyl or lower alkoxy- lower alkyl gp. or an alkylene oxide adduct of this reaction prod. contg. the hydroxy alkyl gp., (b) a nonionic surface-active alkylene oxide adduct (contg. 1-65, pref. 3-12 mol. alkylene oxide) with >=8C-contg. aliphatic mono-alcohols, 3-6 valent aliphatic alcohols, opt. alkyl- or pheny-substd. phenols, 8-22C fatty acid or 3-10C dicarboxylic acids; (c) a water-immiscible organic solvent boiling >80 degrees C and (d) an anionic surfactant. Opt. an amphoteric surfactant (e) may also be present. Strong, uniform dyeings are obtd. on wool, wool/polyamide and wool/polyester mixts., with good dyestuff yields and rub-fastness properties. The light- and wet-fastness properties are not affected. |
