PURPOSE:To provide a chaff cartridge, which is arranged such that combustion gas of powder is once accumulated in the outer sleeve, and when pressure of combustion gas in the outer sleeve has reached a certain level, the outer sleeve is ruptured at one coup over the entire length thereof, whereby it is enabled to scatter chaffs uniformly in every direction. CONSTITUTION:Igniting timing powder igniting unit 11, a chaff cartridge is shot into the air to required position. Because of the arrangement that powder 6 is ignited after passing of a predetermined time period, powder 6 is exploded and high-temperature and high-pressure gas thus generated burns sealing plate 8 and combustible sheet 13. Combustion gas is resultantly accumulated in outer sleeve 2, and when the pressure of cumbustion gas in the outer sleeve 2 exceeds a certain level, it is ruptured to pieces at one coup, whereby pressure of high-pressure combustion gas is applied uniformly to releasing plates 15. By the function of this pressure, sheet 22 is ruptured and scattering sleeve 21 is broken into a plurality of pieces. At the same time, a number of electric wave reflecting sheet 17 enveloped by resilient sheet 19 are scattered uniformly and widely, without causing damages and entagling with each other. |
