<p>Apparatus for controlling the operation of a vehicle's gear box. The apparatus generates electrical signals which are proportional to the vehicle's speed (23), the speed of the vehicle's engine (27), and the position of the vehicle's throttle (25).</p><p>These signals are used to compute which gear is to be engaged at any particular instant, and where necessary, gear selection signals (13, 15, 17, 19, 21) are generated. The gear selection signals are used to actuate the vehicle's clutch, and to control solenoids (72, 74) which manipulate the gear box.</p> |
