<p>PURPOSE:To detect the stop of a tape, while partily simplifying the construction to improve the reliability and partly facilitating the circuit integration, by measuring the intervals of pulses which are generated in a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus in accordance with the running operation of the tape. CONSTITUTION:The running speed of a tape is interchanged in accordance with the recording, reproducing, fast forwarding and rewinding modes by means of a mode switch 30, and pulses are generated in accordance with the rotations of a reel shaft 51 so that the time intervals of the pulses generaged are measured at 26 in terms of the pulse number from a basic pulse generator 27. In case the measured time becomes longer than the control time of the function mode, which is selected for each function mode, tape stop detecting signals are generated from an FF 28.</p> |
