<p>In a mixer for powdered and granular materials and for the treatment of this with a compressed gas and a mechanically driven mixing device, comprising a vertical mixing vessel with inlet and outlet for the raw material and mixed prod. respectively, and a flat bottom, (i) at least one approx. triangular, hollow mixing paddle is fixed to a rotating hub installed directly above the flat bottom in such a way that the latter covers a cavity extending between the walls of the paddle from the hub to the cylindrical outer wall of the mixing vessel and (ii) feed channels are provided for the introduction of compressed gas into the cavity through the hub, a gap being provided between the hub and the wall part of the mixing paddle and the adjacent walls of the mixing vessel to facilitate the escape of compressed gas into the vessel along the whole of the paddle from the hub to the cylindrical wall of the vessel. Provides a mixer for powder and granules, which may be of different particle size and/or different materials, working by combined fluidising and mechanical stirring, with min. power requirements and maintenance and improved mixing efficiency.</p> |
