<p>A laboratory fermenter comprises a baseplate and head-piece, both of which are made of stainless steel, and a cylindrical glass casing sealing the baseplate and head plate. The latter are restrained to each other by means of ties or braces. All of the required fittings are provided for carrying out a controlled and automated fermentative process. The baseplate has a flat bottom with a cylindrical wall extending therefrom and is at least partially enclosed by an outer wall. A hollow space or gap is formed with connectors for cooling liquid circulation. The cylindrical baseplate wall has holes formed therein and is provided with connectors for receiving sensor holding means and at least one hole for a thermoresistor. The head plate is formed by securing or hooking means for a pressure gauge, comprising a fibreglass filter interposed between the pressure gauge and fermenter. The head plate also contains a thermometer. Two electrode holders of a different length automatically control foaming and alarm signalling. A foam breaker vessel, made of steel and glass, is connected through a filter to the fermenter interior.</p> |
