<p>PURPOSE:A bacterium producing alpha-1, 6-glucosidase, which belongs to Bacillus, is cultured in an enriched medium containing nickel, cobalt, or zinc ion, thus producing title enzyme useful for producing maltose with industrial advantage. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium producing alpha-1, 6-glucosidase, which belongs to Bacillus, e.g., Bacillus cereus mycoides FERM-P No.2391, is cultured in an enriched medium containing usually about 1X10<-5>-1X10<-3>M of a salt of nickel, cobalt, or zinc, whose pH is adjusted to 6-8. The addition of the salt increases the production of the enzyme by double to ten times that when the salt if not added.</p> |
