<p>PURPOSE:To enable to easily separate high purity Co and Ni metal, by contacting the liquid containing Co and Ni and organic solvent containing a specific extracting agent it two steps and regulating pH of each step at a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:Treating original liquid containing Co and Ni, removed impurities, such as iron etc., previously, is contacted with 2-ethylhexyl.phosphoric acid mono-2- ethylhexyl ester, shown in the formula, as extracting agent and organic solvent added suitable diluent, such as kerosine etc., in two steps system at least and Co is extracted selectively. On this occasion, pH of the first step is controlled at less than 5 (preferably 3.5-5) by NH3 water etc. and pH of the second step is controlled at 5.5-7. As a result of it, troubles, such as transfer difficulty by pump produced by the viscocity rising caused by rapid Co transfer in the solvent in usual method, is prevented and high purity Co and Ni are able to separate easily.</p> |
