<p>PURPOSE:To utilize electric furnace dust as an iron source for a shaft furnace, by mixing the electric furnace dust with a slurry of converter dust collected in wet process to dealkalize the electric furnace dust, then by pelletizing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Dust produced in an electric furnace for making steel is charged to a wet treating process for converter dust, e.g., to an intermediate slurry tank 11, and the alkali component of the electric furnace dust is eluted into the water of the slurry. Then the slurry is subjected to solid-liq. separation by means of a filterpress 12, to form dehydrated cake 13 together with collected converter dust. The cake is pelletized and used as raw material for a shaft furnace. Exhaust water 14 contg. the alkali component in high concn., on the other hand, is returned to a thickner as washing and collecting liq. for wet collecting unit for converter dust, and recycled for utieization.</p> |
