PURPOSE:To provide the stable light circulator by configuration of a polarizing- separating prism, a Faraday rotor and a polarizing-separating prism. CONSTITUTION:The function of a polarizing-separating prism 4 is such that the light incident at plane of polarization 0 deg. from, e.g., terminal a, emits to d and that the light incident at plane of polarization 90 deg. from the terminal a emits to c as shown by figures (b) thru (e). A polarizing-separating prism 5 varies by 45 deg. in terms of direction but its function is similar to that of the prism 4 and its terminals e, f, g, h correspond to a, b, c, d respectively, wherein the light incident at plane of polarization 45 deg. from, for example, terminal e, emits to f and the light incident at plane of polarization 135 deg. emits to g. A Faraday rotor 6 rotates the plane of polarization 45 deg. in the fixed direction irrespective of the advancing direction of light. Hence, the light incident at plane of polarization 0 deg. from the terminal a is rotated 45 deg. by the rotor 6 and is emitted to f but the light incident at plane of polarization 45 deg. to terminal f passes through the rotor 6 and emits to b.
