The spray cabin (14) for coating components with plastics powder, has its floor shaped as a funnel with a side outlet (5) which forms a cyclone separator (5) for recovery of excess powder. The side outlet (6) from the bottom of the cabin is a suction opening forming the entry into the cyclone. The cyclone chamber can have a vertical suction tube (10) fitted with a filter (11) for separating residual powder before discharging through a vertical section (13) to an overhead discharge point. In one design, the bottom of the chamber can have a set of side by side cyclones across the bottom. They can be connected to a common suction pipe alongside the chamber. The separator system can use a quick action colour changeover system.
