Cow bell antitheft security device - has spike through collar holes, with stop and holes for padlock

The device is used for preventing theft of bells fitted with neck bands. It is esp. for ornamental cow bells liable to be removed by tourists or dishonest dealers. A spike (5) is passed through holes in the overlapping parts of the closed neck band. This has a stop (6) at one end, and also one or more transverse holes (8) for passage of the blocking member (9) of a lock (10). The pref. cylindrical spike can carry a displaceable stop plate (7), so that the two parts (2a, 2b) of the neck band come to rest between this and the main stop.
