METHOD FOR FIBER TORATION OF FIBROUS MATERIALS

The method for fiberizing attenuable materials by toration by using a gasecus blast with a number of gaseous jetstransversely in side-by-side relation to the blast was described. The jets had a kinetic energy per unit vol. higher than the blast with the jets penetrating the blast to provide a number of side-by-side fiberizing zones. The jets were produced by using separate supply manifolds with each manifold having a number of jet delivery devices. This method was most adaptable to the manufacture of glass fibers.
