A method and apparatus for zooming in/out and displaying display information in an electronic device are provided. The method includes detecting an angle according to a touch movement and zooming in/out display information based on the angle according to the touch movement.

1. A method in an electronic device, the method comprising:
detecting a touch; detecting whether a movement direction of the touch is changed when a movement of the touch is detected; determining a distance from a first point where the touch is detected to a second point where the movement direction is changed; scrolling display information according to the movement of the touch when the distance is greater than or equal to a reference distance; determining an angle according to the movement of the touch, when the distance is less than the reference distance; and zooming in/out display information based on the angle when the angle is greater than a reference angle range.
