A preparation process of ion exchange resin sponge for thyroid hormone radioassay use was described. Polyurethane resin sponges of definite sizes were impregnated with mixts, of vinylpyridine-methanol and sybsequently r-irradiated up to 0.5-2 Mrad doses giving I. After washing and drying, I were treated with alkyliodides for 3-4hr to give quaternary alkyliodide residues(II). After squeezing out and drying, II were immersed into an excess amount of saturated soln. of silver chloride for about 10 hr to sybstitute the iodides with chlorides.
