PURPOSE:To recover valuable metals from waste catalyst by a method wherein Co-Mo waste catalyst together with alumina carrier is decomposed by alkali; Ni and Co are recovered by a high magnetic ore selector, and Mo, V waste liquid is reduced by treatment of alkali roasting. CONSTITUTION:Waste catalyst used in heavy oil desulfurization process consists of alumina carrier, Co-Mo catalytic metal, Ni, V, S and tar deposition, etc. Alumina balls are sieved from waste catalyst, deposited tar and sulfer, etc. are burnt and removed by oxidation roasting, so that catalytic metals are formed into oxide. The oxide is then processed by alkali roasting to make Mo, V into water soluble alkali salts and Ni, Co into oxides. The treated material, after being crushed, is treated with water to extract alkali salts of Mo and V, which are reduced for recovery. The residue, i.e. mixture of alumina carrier, Ni and Co, is decomposed with alkali. The process produces water soluble alkali aluminate from alumina, which is extracted with water and separated, and the remaining Ni, Co, being paramagnetic body, is recovered by use of magnetic ore selector.
|
