PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of print data by coding input data into a symbol showing an undefined code and then by printing it when making sure that the input data is the undefined code. CONSTITUTION:In a cash register equipped with a dot printer, input data from external equipment 28 to interface IF24 is latched in a memory and its content is sent to CPU21. Then, CPU21 checks whether this content is a code defined in ROM22 or RAM23 and when so, its print data is coded and stored in RAM23. When it is an undefined code, the code latched in the memory of IF24 is sent again to CPU and then cheched there times and when it is judged to be the undefined code, this print data is coded into an undefined code symbol, which is stored in RAM23 and then printed out by the printer by way of I/O port 25. In this case, the printer changes lines after the input data is printed out and then prints an error message out. |
