PURPOSE:To improve resolution and sensitivity of a thermal transfer recording system by a method wherein information is writen in the information write portion of a heat-sensitive element consisting of a sublimable substance while vibrating the portion by ultrasonic waves. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 6 is heated while vibrating an information write film 3, particularly its heat-sensitive element 2, by exciting an ultrasonic vibrator 7, to heat that portion of the element 2 which is faced to the head 6. With the temperature of the element 2 reached the sublimation temperature of a sublimable substance, the latter is sublimed and emitted from the element 2, to be transferred and deposited on recording paper 5, recording there the information contained in the film 3. Thus, heat energy required for thermal transfer can be reduced and sensitivity is improved. |
