Microwaves, pef. of 900-950 or 2400-2500 (2450)MHz, are used as energy source for thermoplastic and thermosetting condensn. polymer prepn. by monomer condensn. with heating and dissociation of volatile materials. Prods. can be used in the same way as condensn. polymers prepd. by other methods, e.g. as wire lacquers, insulator lacquers, coatings for paper, metal, walls and ceramics, foils, fibres etc. Process time is shortened e.g. by up to 50%. |
