Using the method, it is possible to produce bells for musical instruments in one piece and with a uniform wall thickness, with a favourable effect on the quality of the tone of the finished musical instrument. To produce the one-piece bell, a workpiece in the form of a conical cup is first formed from a round sheet-metal blank. This workpiece (11') is then spun on a spinning lathe, with the continuous application of heat, over a form (19) with the shape of the finished bell. This bell does not have the hitherto customary seams and therefore has excellent tonal properties. <IMAGE>
