The invention is related to a process for the quantitative application of liquid systems in a thin layer to natural or synthetic filaments travelling uniformly along a linear path by the one-way technique using a forced-dosage unit, distinguished by the fact that filaments are guided past at least one slot which is either curved or provided with partial curves, and are brought into contact with an optionally foamed liquid issuing from the slot.
