PURPOSE:To heighten traveling speed of recording paper and reduce noises by a method wherein paper is fed smoothly at high speed along the continuous white lines. CONSTITUTION:Image information signals are stored in an input memory unit 11. When non-printing data portions 11' of N main scanning line portion are present in the stored information, their positions and number are detected by a control unit 15. Then they are transferred, in parallel, to an output memory unit 12. By this, the number of continuous white lines in image information can be continuously transferred to a recording unit 14. With printing data present on main scanning lines, the data in the memory unit 12 is transferred to the recording unit 14 and printed. In this case, a gate 9 controlled by the control unit 15 selects the first drive unit 7, and a slap paper feed is conducted on positive-cast drive system. When the image information is of non-printing data, the gate 9 selects the second drive 8, and a high-speed straight paper feed is conducted by short-period pulses for an amount corresponding to N-1 lines. |
