PURPOSE:To improve the reproducing quality of the characters and patterns by reducing the brightness component transmitted by the carrier chrominance signal and then securing the carrying of the greater part of the brightness component via the luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:Luminance signal EY'=0.45EG+0.40ER+0.15EB, in which the green component is decreased with the red and blue components increased each, is obtained from primary color signals EG, ER and EB each and through luminance signal matrix circuit 10. Then ER-EY' and EB-EY' are generated via luminance signal EY' through color difference signal generating circuits 11 and 13. These color difference signals receive the balanced modulation at balanced modulators 12 and 14 to be added at addition circuit 15 with the signal EY', the composite synchronous signal and the burst signal. In this way, the brightness ration shared by the carrier chrominance signal is decreased, and then the unbalance of the coloring between the horizontal and vertical directions is decreased. Thus the reproducing quality can be enhanced. |
