PURPOSE:To eliminate the noise of the semiconductor switch by connecting the optical control auxiliary switch element possessing the control pole between the main and control electrodes of the main semiconductor switch for the adverse bias and then accelerating the turn-off of the auxiliary switch. CONSTITUTION:Self-turnoff auxiliary switch element 2 with control electrode consisting of the photo thyristor is connected between main electrode ME1 and control electrode CE of semiconductor switch 1 consisting of the gate turnoff thyristor. Element 2 conducts when switch 1 conducts. In case the cut-off is desired for switch 1, the adverse bias is given to control electrode G of element 2 through adverse bias means 60 to give turn off to element 2. As a result, switch 1 is cut off to cause no noise due to the cut-off. |
