Disclosed are a data transmission and processing method and apparatus. The method comprises: encapsulating, by a first apparatus, data to be sent into a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU), wherein the MAC PDU comprises a MAC payload portion and a MAC header, a field of the MAC header corresponding to at least one MAC SDU contained in the MAC payload portion comprises dedicated instruction information, the dedicated instruction information is used to instruct a second apparatus, as a receiving end, to receive the MAC SDU corresponding to the dedicated instruction information by using a common radio link control (RLC) entity, and the common RLC entity has the capability of receiving at least two MAC SDUs corresponding to the dedicated instruction information in MAC SDUs sent by different first apparatuses; transmitting the MAC PDU to the second apparatus, such that the common RLC receiving entity is used to process multiple MAC SDUs corresponding to the dedicated instruction information when MAC PDUs sent from a transmitting end are received at the receiving end, thus reducing the number of RLC receiving entity established at the receiving end and significantly saving system resources. |
