The recliner couch or seat is suitable for people needing spinal support. The couch assembly consists of several sections which can be altered with the aid of an automatically or manually controlled regulator (6, 7, 8). Each support section (1) has its own pressure meter (9), and consists of pillar shaped punches moving through a matrix type frame (3). The support segments (1) are moved by ball-and-socket joints and are interconnected by flexible intermediate pieces.
