<p>PURPOSE:To reduce necessary number of parts and also to bear a braking torque of both pads on both shoulders of a caliper by a construction wherein the friction pads arranged on both sides of a disc are supported by a single pin. CONSTITUTION:A caliper 14 of a disc brake 10 has a cylinder unit 21 in which a piston 22 is fitted slidably, in inner friction pad 23 is arranged between the piston 22 and a disc 13, and an outer friction pad 25 is then arranged between a reaction force transmitter 24 of the caliper 14 and the disc 13. Both the pads 23, 25 are then supported by a single pin 28 penetrating holes of backing plates 26, 27. Shoulders 35, 36 provided with an indentation 32 to enclose heads 30, 31 of the backing plates 26, 27 and lower ends 33, 34 almost identical with a circumferential shape of the disc 13 on both sides thereof are provided on said caliper 14, and a braking torque of both pads 23, 25 is born by the shoulders 35, 36.</p> |
