A reed for an air jet loom is shaped sot that a large hole is cut into the flat of each blade or dent to offer a path for the flow of propellent fluid or weft. The hole is extended in the direction of the zone in front of the blades, and opens out on to it. The cut blades offer a flow path for the compressed air which limits air loss and which prevents the air jet from dispersing. The construction of the loom is simplified by the omission of the customary'confusers' or relay nozzles, which thus reduces breakdown and maintenance overhaul.
|
