PURPOSE:To appropriately carry out the detection of the lowered state of the awakening degree of a driver to promote the safe driving of a car by detecting the large variation in the steering operation generated by the lowering of the awakening degree to discriminate the lowered state of the awakening degree. CONSTITUTION:When a steering operation signal 1a from a steering operation signal generating circuit 1 reaches each of set levels V1 and V2, respective discriminating circuits 2 and 4 deliver signals 2a and 4a to a time setting circuit 3 and a pulse circuit 5, respectively. The outputs 3a and 5a from these circuits 3 and 5 are supplied to a discriminating circuit 6, and a signal 6a is produced from the circuit 6 when a pulse 5a is generated within the time of a signal 3a. This signal 6a is counted in a counter circuit 16, and when the counted value reaches a predetermined number of pieces, an alarming signal actuating an alarming device is produced. Further, when the counter circuit 16 is controlled by a monotonous driving detector 15, and actuated only at the time of monotonous driving, higher detection accuracy can be obtained. |
